Thumbs up Possibility of having an Endurance Race at the Pits

Hi to all
As most will know we had a ride night at the Pits last night. As usual a great time was had by all who attended and rode ( BIG THANKS TO JAX AND GERRY FOR ALLOWING US TO RIDE AT THEIR TRACK ONCE AGAIN)
Any way I spoke to Gerry about the possibility of SAMRA holding an "Endurance Race" at the Pits.
Much to my joy Gerry has said he can't see any problem with that ! I still have to ring him and work out the Logistics of this.
All going well we would be looking at the 3rd of January 2009. This would be a later start than usual as the Pits will be very busy with Kart hires over this period.
We would probably be looking at a 6.30pm start and it can only be an hour event so we would have to vacate the premise pretty quickly. However to compensate this SAMRA would do the Trophy presentations at the Middleton Tavern down the road. also to great time to socialize with everyone again
This event will be for Cags only again with teams ,Lemanns start...basically run the same way we did the event at Pooraka.
Anyone with any queries please contact myself Via this forum or you can ring me on my moblie.
This will be another fun event and as the saying goes the more the merrier .

Talking The Race is on!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi to all
I can now say that the Endurance race at the Pits Port Elliot is 100% ON ! Thanks to Gerry and Jax from all at SAMRA!
This Endurance Race is to starts at 6.30 pm and finish at 8.00pm on the 3rd of January 2009. This allows for a 1/2 hour practice and the 1 hour race .

There will be a trophy presentation ( yes you heard right..more trophies) at the Middleton Tavern after the race.
Cost.... fee for the track hire $250..so hopefully if we get enough riders it will be about $15.00 per rider

This event is for Cags only however if you want to take your water cooled bikes out at the practice session that would be OK
This will be a great social event for all who race and I hope that you all can make it . If you have any queries I can be contacted via this site or you can ring me on 0402981339.
The rules for this event are the same as the last Endurance race except for the exclusion of water cooled bikes.Just for luck here are a copy of the rules.

ENDURANCE RACE RULES 2009 SAMRA

*The aim of this race is to prove reliability of the bikes during a prolonged race event*

To win this race Teams are to complete as many laps of the chosen circuit in the given time.

This race is to be a 1 hour event for cags .

The start of this event will be a Leman's style start with the riders running from the start line to their bikes starting them and racing.

Teams are to consist of either 2 riders and a lap scorer or if the rider opts to ride the event by themselves 1 rider and 1 lap scorer (Lap scorers must be supplied by the TEAMS)

The Direction of this event will be decided on the day by the tossing of a coin.

Lap scorers are to score for an opposition’s team .Not their own team. This will be decided on the day who scores for who.

Where there is a Team racing the riders in each instance must ride for at least 20 minutes of the hour.

Once the full hour has elapsed the riders will finish via the chequered flag at the finish line and lap scoring shall cease there after.

Fuelling of the bike will not be allowed on the track and may only be done in the area set aside by the organisers of this event.

There will be Trophies supplied for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class and will not be divided in to senior and junior as they are able to race together in teams consisting of a junior and senior.

R1 style Bikes "Maxi Bikes" will not run with cags or water cooled bikes at this event.

These rules are a supplementary ruling and all other rules used by the club at a general race meet apply .This pertains to rider conduct, overtaking and general sportsmanship

This info will also be available from the SAMRA site. I look forward once again to this event and hope to see you all out there again .

I have placed the info on the SAMRA site here SAMRA Event Calendar

I haven't placed a nomination form, but if one is needed let rover know, so he can pass it on.

Hi everyone
last weekend was great fun out at the Pitts. It was good to finally get back down there and get a ride night. I had heaps of fun racing Mark and my brother Ryan. It was good to see everyone out there again enjoying themselves racing especially everyone on their cags, that was some good racing except for Liam's stack into the tires. As for the enduro I can't wait, hopefully it will be as intense as the last one, can't wait to race with Ian again hopefully. I will see you all there after Christmas have a good one.
