rover has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Thumbs down Pooraka is closing down

It is with much sadness that I post this thread
This weekend just gone our future at Pooraka was looking great with Wayne and his partner Ronnie taking over the track with what we all thought was a done deal..to the point that Wayne had payed a large sum of money to the Landlord of the track.
How ever the Landlord of the property has done a deal Via the back door unknown to any one and have broken their 7 year lease agreement with the track. The land lord also breaking his agreement with Wayne and Ronnie He has decided to lease the property to a person from interstate.
This means that our track is going to be closed effective immediately. !
The new owners of the track are doing a go kart hire business .Pooraka will be closed for 3 weeks and then reopened but only having go kart hires on their own karts.....no Pocket bikes or 2 stroke karts.
There are a few positives though !
I have asked the new owners if we could still hold this weekends Endurance Race and they have agreed to let us hold this as planned ..so please could everyone attend as usual.
The other positive is that the new track owners are interested in talking to SAMRA about the possibility of pocket bikes using the track on a limited time. this negotiation though is still weeks away and wont be fully sorted until they have their business up and running.
This is all I can say on this matter and as I find out more will keep everyone informed.
As I said could all please try to attend this weekends Endurance Race .I will try to organize a SAMRA committee meeting ASAP and it would be great to see everyone one more time as this possibly could be our last race meet at Pooraka

very sad news. the track was ideal you could go any day of the week.
but at least it isn't the end of pocket biking in south Australia we still have one track left that is being relayed and extended right now.

Ouch

That sux badly. You wanna post that guys address for us? Pooraka has never done well out of hire karts alone. I'm sure its a nice enough idea to make heaps of cash like kart mania but kicking out the people who support the place is a pretty retarded way to start. Boo.

This is extremely dissapointing to hear that money hungry lanlord, could see the money rolling in because the track had been looked after and developed by the guys for the last 12 months once he new the track was laid I bet he started to rub his greedy little hands together thinking show me the money, I say stuff him let's show him and everyone else that this sport can survive with out his track, which would not have been what it is today without all of us both pocket bikes and go karts guys, there to help it.
I have met some great people during my years venturing to pooraka and will miss that and what the track bought to the sport.
