After what has been a mammoth effort in negotiations with Insurance Brokers and the Barrossa Go-Kart Club and the AKA (Australian Karting Association) The Adelaide Pocket Bike Association Is proud to announce the start of the 2008 Winter Season. With the first meeting to be held at Robinson Park, Belvidere Rd, Just off the Sturt Hwy, Nuriootpa. On the 11th May 2008.
Final details were discussed with the Barossa Go-Kart Club over the weekend, Gates are to open at 9am on Sunday morning as I am sure all will be anxious to test your bikes and setup your gearing for the longer straights and flowing aspects of the track.
It is recommended to be early as testing will be divided into Jnr and Senior testing sessions to consider safety for all riders.
Nomination fees for the day will be $20.00.
For non club members there will be a day license required of $15.00 (Memberships will also be available on the day)
Racing is to start at 1pm so we can complete the scheduled races within daylight hours.
Refreshments and a BBQ will be available on the day.
Following rounds of the season will be held between Pooraka Raceway, Research Rd, Pooraka. and Robinson Park, Nuriootpa. (See calendar for details).
Due to restrictions set by the Barossa Go-Kark Club no 4 stroke classes will be included at the Robinson Park Venue. Also considerations for track care must be taken, Bikes will be scrutineered and any fuel leaks, exposed steel footpegs, uncovered handlebar ends, must be remedied before being allowed on the track.
We will be ambassadors for our sport as this will be the first instance of Pocket Bikes being welcomed onto an AKA track in Adelaide and surrounding areas.
So Guys and Gals, Grab your bikes and your gear and get yourself out to Robinson Park on the 11th May for what is shaping up to be the start of the most exciting year of pocket bike racing yet !
We will be looking for expressions of interest from ALL members of the pocket bike fraternity, as this will help in organising the classes and refreshments for the day.
Voluteers for the day as flag marshals and admin would also be helpful.
