PARKLANDS WHAT A JOKE/BUT GETTING BETTER

Ok guys I must say that the Parklands raceway is a friggin joke I have my mates riding there and my kids because itis the only place i know of to ride legally

points that need fixing

1 the track is appauling spend some of that entry money on resurfacing it for christ sake before some kid gets killed
2 the amount of people in 1 race is disgusting the only race i like last saturday nite was the ladies class
3 why isnt there marshalls on every corner when a rider goes down there should be a yellow flag raised instantly to let others know
my mate was cut off last saturday nite which resulted in a dislocated shoulder and a snapped collar bone he is out for 10 weeks
4 we payed extra to have an ambulance there last week yet after my mate crashed it took us 3 goes to contact the fat prick while he was sleeping in the car on the opposite side of the track why wasnt the Ambulance sitting in the middle of the track so he could get to where ever he needed to quickly You try sitting there for 10 minutes wit ha snapped collar bone and see if you like it
5 I know there isnt any favouritism out there all i seem to hear is Wow Oscar macintyre is fantastic what about keeping track of some of the beginner out there that are improving every race

I have had my spit and I tell you word of mouth is the best advertising and if things do not pick up numbers will start dropping there i race with 27 ppl in our group so think of it as just me alone will get 27 people not to show up just from us you will lose $810 doesnt seem like much but others will follow trust me then again you wont care you will just up the prices on the spare parts to cover costs

PICK YOUR ACT UP BEFORE YOU GET SUED

SIGNED UNHAPPY RACER AND PARENT

mate, last week wasn't parklands best week..they are usually alright!

I agree/ disagree with some of your points...

I disagree with the amount of people in the race... I like racing with 30 people in one race..makes it harder if you start at back..heck i Started at back and came first..it aint hard...more crashes the better too it's fun chrashing..u get up and keep going..my stomach was pissing out with blood when i came off my water cooled..i kept goin and won the senior light air cooled round.

the track is only bumpy on the insides...you need to get used to the track and once you've done that..you will have a smooth ride..the center/out side of the track is nice..

the only thing I did'nt like was the fact there was ni prizes this week (mainly because I won and wanted $50  )

I'm taking you ran in senior heavy too?

as for oscar...parklands love him because he has the best bike/ spends the most money there...and he is a good young rider...

Rider Gradings

Maybe what the guys at parklands need is to run a grading system for riders like what they do with Super Motard this could help with novice riders causing havoc on the track with more experienced riders.... just because you have a super fast bike with all the mods money can buy doesn't mean you can ride it to its full potential. The grading system can keep beginners in a class with riders of similar skills until they (a) get a few wins or podiums under there belt or (b) make it through a club agreed number of races while keeping there nose clean (although this would require a number of marshalls on flag points and perhaps a clerk of course). Then as these racers make there way through say an a b & c grade format then you can look at different classes for stock and modified bikes. As for X's comments about crashes (the more the better) man i've seen a mate go through a 12 month rehabilitation after being lunched of a track by some cowboy that didn't know what he was doing... the only better side I saw to it was he lived and I get to have a beer with him every now and then! Sounds like your a good rider dude, so dont lower yourself to comments like that. The idea of motorsport is to have fun go hard and do it safely.

Big h- I agree....It's not good when someone gets seriously hurt...but where not on bulls or full size racers...where on bikes that are 30cm high..and when you high side or come off it doesn't really hurt..you get a few scratches...

sorry If I said it in a bad way....or if I offended you..

I'll shut up now

i guess with the right protective equipement your injury can been bit less painful, but when i come off shite did it sting, i was still full of adrenilin till i got back to my brothers house in brissy till the pain set in, 1/2 week off work and still to have ct scan but accept it as being appart of the sport any sport (even chess, ha).
im not sure how we can do the classes and keep people happy at the same time.
what feel needs to happen a governing body needs to be appointed and formally arranged(like andra in drag racing, CAMs etc, Kite boarder only pay approx $60 a year for membershipwith public liability inc.).
1.everyone puts in 2 rules they think to be the most important, the goverening body/affiliated club then goes threw and decide from the lodge proposed rules(from us), or 2.just addapt the rules from overseas pocket racing.
then have a detailed rule book that we can all build our PB to meet the class rules we want to race in, once that is done then the affillation offer public liablity to paying members, insurance, have licencing, and what ever comes of that in motorsport.
but until there is affilliation to set the rules for classes for the whole of OZ, there will be heaps of complaining of unfairness towards tracks providing a venue for racing, no matter what classes they have.
only an idea. :?:

Fair point x, but these bikes aint exactly toys. I've only had my bike for a couple of months so I havent been to or raced at parklands yet ( big hike for me) I dont here a lot of good reports about the track surface but I'll get down there soon to make my own opinion. Everyone seems to have a complaint about how things are run but nobody seems to want to contribute to fixing the problems. You will find that any motorsport in oz relies heavily on volunteers to make up the numbers in regards to officials and marshalls ( look at the AGP and gold coast indy, i've worked indy 3 times in the last 10 years for little more than a cut lunch and a general admission pass) Maybe some of us need to give up a few nights or weekends and help make this form of racing better for all of us.[/list]

Well lets hope they sort their **** out tonight everyones comments are fair and I guess maybe the parents of the kids racing should volenteer to do do some marshalling even if it is just 1 race and i suppose some sort of grading should be done also like in karting until you can get around that track in a certain time you will be kept in a lower class

people like Oscar should not be racing with other beginers that only puts him in danger aswel as the beginners I take my hat of to that kid he has real talent I just dont need to hear about it all friggin nite there was 24 juniors racing last Saturday nite which half of them were really good split them in 2 heats and get some really good racing goin on same for the senior heavies It might give riders more incentive to try harder to make the next class

Anyway see what happens tonight i guess safe racing to everyone that is going and hopefully no-one will need that Ambulance tonight
