what do you think of the 'long' track at parklands?

had a look at the saturday races at parklands yesterday for the first time, and saw that they extend the track using two of the access roads, i've only been to practice sessions at night there previously and they only use the original kart track then.

so what do you think of the long track? like it or not?
me - havn't ridden it as yet, but i dont like the layout. it seems to me that the 2 huge straights would just make it about who spends the most on their bike, and not about who is the faster rider.

the long track at parklands is all about speed  there are a few corners where the "better" riders excel but it has the two long straights and the the curving straight so if you dont have a fast bike then it is almost impossible to be a front runner.

yeah i thought the long straights would take the skill out of it a bit...
it's a shame i think, i don't know about other people, but going faster than someone just because you've spent more and your bike is more powerful isn't as much fun (it's still fun ) as going faster because you chose a better line, or were able to keep your corner speed better.
i think the long track would be awesome if instead of straights it had nice fast sweepers, i just get 2 bored riding in a straight line

I like the long track with the big left sweeper at the end of the pit straight.
I was trying to get by a guy a couple of weeks ago who held me up in the corners but blasted away on the straight parts. I even held back on the
corner before the one that leads onto the straight to keep my corner speed up and ran up beside hlm on the grass a couple of times to see if I could get passed. Still blasted me.

Still, it was fun.
