Ok, user is banned, so I am going to be VERY cautious here.
Is it actually legal to ride Cags along the cycle ways???
I am going throw ideas here:
1. cycle way is designed for bikes, bikes can and do get up above 50km/h, my pedal-bike regularly sees 50 - 70km/h.
2. As long as the right gear is worn, Helmet, etc I wouldn't see an issue with a bike on the cycle way (motor-powered or not)
3. There would be a noise issue, but I know the area linked is an industrial area, so chances of the locals being bothered would be minimal.
4. I had a chat with Police about public use of Cag Vs pushbikes with motors, vs petrol powered scooters, the result was cags illegal because they primarily power from a motor, not registerable, etc.
- Pushbike with motor primary uses pedal power to move
- Scooter with motor primary source of propulsion is by scooting with foot.
- Cag can not be easily scooted with, and is designed to primarily use it's 42/47/49cc motor to get moving.
If infact cycle-ways are usable, this would be nice, but I really dont like the idea of risking fines to test the theory.
Thanks in Advance,
Brian.
