arn't you reducing crank pressure by spacing out the reeds? less crank pressure less compression?
and if you were to get better results with the spacer wouldn't they manufactures set that into the bottom end when they are making the crank case ?

yes but only slightly
id say combined with a full circle crank the crank case compression is still way higher than a stock case with half crank
you can also use the old case packing filling to make up for this amount if it really concerns you !!
a spacer could increase the velocity a touch or just to give a better flow
also you can safely remove the reed backing plate and allow the reeds to open to full potential without touching the crank

big kev, watercooles dont have removable restrictors, the only restrictor is the actual crank case walls.
adding a reed spacer will pull the reeds out more so they can open more before they hit the crank wall.
i have onf of RD's spacers and it is great, looks good works great, just what i needed and for an awesome price

legine, i am glad your happy with the spacer, as mentioned all these little trick bits add up to alot more engine grunt in the long run.

with all apart, start with the gasket to case then spacer - gasket - reed plate - gasket - manifold - carby. the idea is to bring the reed plate away from the crankcase this extra say 6mm.
