bi-directional = 2 ways
uni-directional = 1 way

The SAVA slicks are uni-directional, ie are supposed to be only run in one direction. But I'll find out from SAVA for us if this needs to be strictly adhered to or if it is possible to reverse them without compromising tyre performance to much or rider safety as the SAVA wets can be run either way depending on track conditions.

Ok here's what I found out. Here is a reply from SAVA - Regarding rotation direction-we have understood your point; of course there
is possibility to change the tyre in opposite direction in order to
prolongate life time of tyres; but Sava do not recommend you to do this.
Why? Because it increases a bit the possibility that the joint (tread
splice) will open; a crack can appear on the tread surface; because the
force is constantly pushing on the joint. We have to say that this
possibility is just really small, but we do not like to recommend you to do
something what can appear as a quality mistake; and that Sava will loose
image consequently.
But looking practically; if tyre is that much worn out on one side that is
hardly to be used further; than of course the tyre direction is to be
changed,...especially when we are talking of hobby racing or practising.
Otherwise nothing else can happen as a crack on the surface; carcasse
remains strong and unaffected; so it will not come to blowups.
So, we leave this decision to each individual.
Hope this information is useful.

hey
people in wa have been using savas for nearly a year now
and the only troubles they have come across is that if you do lap after lap continuously the tyers start to bake and ball up severely and become slipery
i was running one on he back of my bike at parklands once but
pmts are more to my ridin style though.

Hi Cohjack#17,
Both mine and Wizzars reply to you have been lost due to problems with the site and so I would like to again address your feedback on the SAVA tyres and again ask you to be more specific with regard to your observations.
Firstly though I would like to repeat that we only believed these to be the first SAVA minimoto tyres in Australia because SAVA themselves told us so. I guess that the WA guys must have sourced them from someone other than SAVA themselves. Also how long ago was this, as SAVA is constantly asking for rider feedback to improve their product if needed.
Now to the "bake and ball and slip" issue when doing lap after lap continuously. Again as I said previously, there are horses for courses. As you would know when selecting which compound tyres to run at any given track a few things need to be considered. So... How were the track conditions? For example what was the track surface like? What kind of temp was the day in question? What was the track layout like with regard to how savage the corners were etc, and what exactly do you mean by lap after lap continuously? As I said before even the best tyres in the world have their limits.
Since I first replied to you we have sold a large number of the SAVA tyres most of which were the MB/MRB. The guys at the Gold Coast love em, just ask Kurt. They stick like poo to a shoe with no slip issues that you mention whatsoever . With regard to the tyres developing balls of rubber on the surface, take a look at any soft compound race tyre that grips and that's what you will see. Have a look at Kart race tyres or F1 tyres at the Gold Coast Indy that have been raced and you will know what I am talking about.

Hi Mate,
I know exactly what you mean by China tyres limiting your ride. Just as you start to move things up a notch, the rear end gets a case of the "Mr Squiggles" and wants to step out on you all the time. The SAVA's most certainly knock that on the head! However with summer coming on, I would be recommending the MC / MRC's as the MB's / MRB's & MA's / MRA's will tend to run too hot and become a little greasy if they are used in conditions that are too hot. If you're still finding the weather fairly cool down there, then you may do okay with the MB's / MRB's.
As for pricing, click on the following link and it will take you to all our prices on these tyres. http://www.rinkidinkracers.com.au/wheels-and-tyres.asp
Cheers,
Steve.
