its aluminium with the pad compound built into it.

if you look at a standard pad its just a kevlar or carbon fibre with metallic bits ground into it so might as well do it the other way round!

i just love the fact that it looks like you can keep on using it well after the "shoe" part has gone.

So they should be a similiar price, given that the Aus dollar is floating around the .97 mark

when you say must adjust them accordingly does this mean they will wear out mega fast if they slip?

Here is a little bit of feed back from the UK forum.

Tried them on the dyno on Josh's bike, and the wear is excellent, and they run on your normal drum (no need for special drums)......although wud probably be better to start with a new drum to match to the shoes.

After quite a few runs to bed clutch in, it was wound up to the correct rpm to engage (as we would do with a normal clutch). When the clutch was cold it engaged the same as a normal clutch would (when warm), but when the clutch was hot, it started to bog slightly (thus the stronger springs....blata springs...are needed).

The clutch we tried was a 3 shoe aswell, whereas we only normally use 2 shoe on Josh's proddy.
