Archerfield News Sept/oct

Racing on Sunday 28/9/08 was great. Even though showers were predicted we managed to escape jail once again. No incidents and a nice overcast day with cool conditions made for an excellent days’ racing.
We ran fourteen categories which gave us a total of fifty-six events for the day.
It was promising to see good numbers in some categories including Senior Air Cooled standard. Pit Bikes have done the full circle and gone back to where it all started with the Fast 50’s having a good roll upas well.

Network Ten’s show TOTALLY WILD will be at our track next Tuesday 21st October at 1.30pm for three hours of filming of Pocket Bike Racing. Although they are mainly interested in Juniors, Seniors are welcome to come along as well. Parents wanting children to participate in the filming will need to sign a release form which can be obtained at the track. Once again great exposure for the kids and pocket bike racing in general.
Points for the last two events are posted below.
Practice this Saturday as usual and the next Round of our Motul Series will be on the 26th October.
Ps. Jacky has asked to remind everyone to return money for ticket sales to the canteen asap.

See you all at the track on Sunday.

Darrin,
For the last two years we have run the South East Queensland Championship with no support from riders north of Brisbane. We can easily put together a two, four or even a six round series between the two tracks but we would need some convincing that a proposed series would receive the necessary support.
As you would know our riders already receive fifty practice days a year and twenty six race events per year. To burden our riders with the extra expense of travel, etc, we would need to make sure any series we arrange is well organised and supported.
Yes, we would certainly throw our support behind such a proposal.
Regards,
Barry Pearce
