| | | god dam im wild, walbro rep dont fit!
So.. i get my new walbro HP carby and fatboy exhaust sent to me today. i take the bike apart and start to unload the goods. First i notice no instructions for the carby where it said it came with them. So i check out google for some instructions and found this pdf format walbro genuine guide. So the genuine and rep are totaly different... My problem starts with the manifold for the carby. In its normal position the carby cannot possibly connect to it... the plate that runs ontop of the carby hits the screws that hold the reed cage on...
The only way i can fit the carby to the manifold is to turn the manifold upside down so the airfilter points to the ground. Its the only way the dam thing will bolt onto the manifold / crank case. So its all bolted down, i try to start the bike and no luck. Was about to head inside after about 30 pulls of the pullstart and it fired up... it idled for about 30seconds and once i went to turn the idle down or up the bike conked out. Try start the prick of a thing again , no luck. played with the high and low screws, no luck. Gave the bike a kick in the guts and went inside.
Now the new fatboy! What the hell do i have to do to fit this stupid pipe!? I cut out the brace in the middle of the frame so the pipe can fit in the middle of the bike. Bolt the U bit to the exhaust port, and what do i find? the god dam exhaust doesnt connect U part going into the exhaust port!! I played around trying all new angles and everything, no go at all. The pipe has no possible way to fit, the angles are all freaking wrong.
So all up, my new performance parts are crud. Anyone who has used or installed a walbro rep carby and or fatboy please reply... I have heaps of details about the carby, just ask and ill reply.
thanks....

i think on the ozauctions pocket bikes the engine mounts are angled,
you will need to do something about that but im not too sure

By default the Chinese HP carby kits won't fit on any CAG engines without some modification as far as I know. The bracket that holds the throttle cable will hit on the side of the engine and the bolts that hold the manifold on hit on the bracket.
I found the solution to the problem is if you want to keep the bracket that comes with the carburettor you'll need a reed spacer around 6mm thick. This spaces the carby out far enough that the bracket will clear the outside of the crank case now.
The bolt heads of the bolts that hold the reed cage and manifold on will likely foul on the carby as well. You'll need to grab some lower profile bolts or screws then it should all fit. Failing that attack the manifold with drill and just make a countersunk hole to drop the bolt head down away from the carb.
That should do the trick
Before I got my reed spacer I had to make my own bracket which mounted via the top right hand side (top bolt closest to the pull start) I'd supply photos but i can't find any
Sorry for the bad explanation. I'm pretty spaced out at the moment.

genuine walbros will work on any angle usually pump to the top & manifold so it angles up i had no problems at all
make sure u turned the idle screw not one of the low and high ajustment screws
make sure the choke is not (ON) closed !!!! you dont usually need to use the choke with a genuine walbro
as for the fatboy pfttttt they blow chunks & have fitting probs on 50% of bikes & i wouldnt have cut any braces on your frame ya have weakened it
some pics may help tho cant blame the parts its your frame engine mount angle etc....

Hi insanenissan,
If you bought the parts from me, and I forgot to add the instructions, I am sorry, but here is the link to installation for you. http://www.adaracing.com/pdf/pbhpck47-wt.pdf
With the bracket, some bikes need the linkage bent slightly to fit correctly and clear the mounting bolt.
If you turn the manifold upside down it won't work, due to the pluse hole.
Turn the manifold the correct way around and it will work.
With the fatboy exhaust, there are many, many different models out of china and it will fit most bikes, but it will not fit some,e.g half fairing bike, F2, and some bikes that have the engine mount plate on an angle.
Some of these mentioned can fit the exhaust with some modifacations.
I hope this has helped and if you would like futher help just ring me and I will help as much as I can.

yes dont bother with the choke m8 no need with a walbro unless ya kill switch dont work then they come in handy to kill the engine lol

How do you get your engine started without the choke ?
I've never really been able to on mine.

im using a genuine wt603 walbro
my old girl fires first or 3rd pull cold & i still have the poxy china brand plug ??
one thing tho i dont use a timing key on my 15:1 kit some bikes like em some dont depending on timing on crank & flywheel there are so many different factorys churning out bits .5 to 1 mm can make a hell of a difference with timing
if u throw a genuine walbro on that RD engine ill bet it will rev much harder n alot quicker off the mark
throw on a jet pro rep ya will be leaning over the front to keep her down when ya hitting it out of corners
