Exhaust wrap, good or bad??? on Blata replica air cooled

Hi all,
was going to fit some exhaust wrap on my b**t* replica "air cooled" to help keep the heat down.
Do you think this will help cool motor, or would it make it hotter?

1. Not sure if I should just wrap it where it passes over the head to keep excess heat away from the head,
or
2. If I should wrap all expansion chamber? or do you think this may trap to much heat in the exhaust and then make it hotter?

Hi JJ, i'd get the fisrt pipe heta coated from HPC from Brissy, it'll cost under $50 and will be better than rapping it. It worked very well for keeping heat down on my turbo manifold.

so you reckon just get the header part coated, or the whole pipe, except stinger on end?

i noticed some dude just used that silver reflective tape on the bottom of the plastic parts to stop the heat that way.

If you are worried about heat soak to the motor from the exhaust I think either method will work ok, but probably heat wrapping the pipe is best. I think this is generally done to improve performance and reduce under bonnet temperatures (in cars) as by wrapping the pipes, so the theory goes, you keep the heat in the exhaust gas better and it therefore flows faster. I don't know if this is actually true or just a ploy to sell heat wrap, that's just what I've read.

jj for the price and where the exhaust comes close to fairings, id only do the header pipe. if your budget allows do the whole lot. HPC also do the inside of the pipe.
