Help With NEW Bike

Hi guys i am justing starting up in pocket bike racing over here in New Zealand.
Got my bike a few days ago.
But i had a problam with the back wheel spinging with no throttle and reving when on the ground with no throttle.( think it has stoped but not sure had a fiddle with throttle cable)
But now the bike is cutting off when left running or when im ridding it like yesterday i gave it a five minuite run around and i cut throttle when coming around a coronner and then when i turned it again it just stalled on me(done that a few times) and also does it when left running)

Any body know what is causing this??

Thanks
Braden

check your fuel filter, mine on satdy night melted at the supply end and kept on stalling when revd but would idle fine due to only a bit of fuel being able to get threw. not sure if this is your problem but check it out cause they do fail.

Hi mate,
just checking, it was the ''fuel filter'' that you checked and not the air filter on the back of the carby? If there was a bit of dirt in the fuel filter that you blew out then you would have achieved nothing as the fuel filter is supposed to remove crap from the fuel and hold it before it gets to the carb.

Rather than clean the fuel filter you have to clean the crud out of the carby that made it past the filter. The main trouble spots for dirt in carbies are the ''main jet'' and the ''needle+seat''.

You also mentioned that your wheel wanted to spin with no throttle. If the wheel is wanting to spin at low idle then at least one of the clutch springs is broken and allowing a clutch shoe to engage at low idle.

in this case i would say the most easiest thing to do is turn the fuel on and if the carby has a small drain screw in the bowl unscrew this if the fuel doesnt leak u know your jets or float is blocked

wheel wanting to spin with no throttle could also mean she's simply idling too high

turn the idle screw anti-clockwise and see if this stops her spinning

ps - use 1/4-1/8th turns as she mightn't need to be adjusted too far
