Howdy all!!
Before I go on with this post I have to thank the following people:
Viper performance for getting my new 110 ready with only a days notice! That was great!!
To Oldmamike for helping me be able to turn up to GPTC on Sunday!!
To xt1968 & Nightrider for their help in trying to solve a few issues as well!!
You guys rock!
Like I was told, it was like racing was back in the 70's 8) Not that was around at that time :P Everyone helping each other! Thanks again and also to GPTC staff for their time and help as well.
ok, on to the weekend.
This past weekend I had planned on going to GPTC with my cag to test the rebuild I did on it and see how much diff it made, and to test and run in my new 110 4 stroke which seems to be known as the Gen 4 from Viper with the 50cc swapped out for a 110.
Since I have gotten in to pocket bikes it seems very hard to find out just how much of a diffrence some mods will do, so with each of these bikes I will be doing up, I will be reporting how each mod goes and then share it with anyone who wants to know :P
CAG:
The cag I got was the standard 40cc crap. I have got it running... a few times at most while at gptc and when I did it was just slow as hell with me on. (I am about 90 ~ 95kg) So, I decided to go get some mild mods and see how much of a diff it would make, but also try to not spend a lot of cash while do so.
I went out and got the following:
49cc sleeper barrel, piston and everything else you need
ported carbie (stock one)
pod air filter with fittings
new ngk spark plug
power pipe (a cheap rip off)
total: 125.00AUD
(EDIT: I have since added a fiber glass reed, steel clutch & 7 tooth sprocket & now its actually coming on to band VERY well

price would total about 100 for that stuff thanks to Viperformance

Once again with the goods

)
I had run it in fairly well at my place since I have a long drive way and was eager to see how it would go on the track. I got to talking to a young gent about 12 or 13 maybe who had a 50cc stock cag, so I thought it would be a good match up. In the strights he pulled away from me, but mainly because of the size/weight diff between us. the mods helpped in a big way, pulling atleast 70% better up the hills. I would think with someone much younger and lighter it would move a lot better.
Next mod: Reed block - 4 petal with new cabie to suit.
I am going to stay with the current pipe till I try out the reed block to see how much diffrence it makes, after this a new pipe will come better suited for the setup with a much better band!! It will be good to see how far I can take the current block of this cag with just bolt on's.
4 Stroke 110cc - Total stock!!
OK, new bike, so it has to be tested & ridden light to run in the engine. so I couldn't peg it but I could get an idea. First thing I noticed when I took it out was that it needed diffrent sprockets!! That was for sure, down the main stright and the run back down the hill I could see the bike would top out very easy. some people run 28 on the rear others say 33. So at the moment I am thinking even dead on 30 might work well, but I'll try standard sizes first trying to keep to the bolt on methods
Second would be the pipe. The stock one just don't cut it! So I will be in search for a pipe, PBU are selling one for 187.00US, Vipers price on one is 315.00 and I haven't done the math for it yet but I still want to see if I can get a choice of which one I get.
The pegs need to be grinded off, they are way too long, as soon as you try to get around corners your grinding them on the road, also the pegs aint the strongest, but then I am not the lightest either.
What I really loved about this bike was that I could move around on it very well!! I think with a bit of messing around I could get it to handle better as well. It also pulls so well out of corners!! Even tho I couldn't peg it, thats where I was eating up a lot of the 2 strokes, the corners, if it was run in with a 33 tooth rear sprocket it would beat a dream rep with someone on it about my size for sure.
Next upgrade: Sprocket & pipe!!
Like I said, I think I need to look for pipes before making my final choice. But it sounds so bad as it is, its a MUST! The sprocket is a no brainer, I just need to figure out if I should go with 28 or the 32 or just change the front from 14 to 15?? After these two things I will move to look at the carbies & what I can do with the current engine. Porting will happen of course, but then a look on the inside of this engine and what simple upgrades can be done will be done
Over all:
The new 110cc rocks!! A few little issues I had got sorted and Vipers after sales service has been great!! I managed to get some good video footage of guys at the track and myself on the 110 so you can get an idea of my size on this little thing which I'll post later.
Hope to see some more of you guys up there soon!!
