CAG Clutches

What is the difference between the red and grey padded 3 shoe clutches?? Does one grip or function any better than the other?? Do you need to bed the clutches in when they are fitted?? Or are they as simple as fit and away you go??
I have tried heavier spring over the standard type and the standard springs seem to work heaps better than the heavier duty springs.

Any assistance would be greatful.

Not real difference mate between red pads and grey..

With springs, you need to find good tight ones, you can go buy HD springs but they may be shitter than stock springs. I had a bag full of springs and only found like 4 that were tight.

When you say you say the stock springs were better, what do you mean by that?

HD springs are just suppose to delay the clutch coming in for longer so the revs are higher and you can have a better punch when taking off.

With the standard spring it seems to pull of the line better for the kids. I have fitted brand new clutch arms and heavy duty springs and it seems to rev high and not go anywhere. As soon as installed the standard springs back it was fine, but seemed to still slip with the new cluth arms. Do these need to be bed in. Do they get better with time after some use??
