hey mate, my best advice would be to just go one big one. you could try 1,2 or 3 ports but at the end of the day i have found they all work very simular, its manily down to setup of the ports wat hight etc if thats not write then boost ports will make little or no difference. theres alot that comes into play wen playing with cags imo its about finding a happy medium! to much hight on your ports results in no extra revs (at max maybe 500rpm) but if the ports are to low it will be just as lame, you need to find the sweet spot!! were you have a nice good constant pull of power, write the way up to 11,500 rpm to 12,000rpm if you can obtain that then leave it as i have found its all down hill from there lol hope this helps

No, you don't need a new piston. Boost ports can be made with a dremel, but doing so is not recommended for a beginner .... well, unless you have another old cylinder to practice on, anyway.

Three ports seem to be popular over on my forum, although a few guys have done one huge port and a couple of five-port jobs.
