i built a dyno to tune my bikes. it applies load to the wheel to tune accurately. it wouldnt be too hard to make one just to tune the bike without making one to give power figures.. here are some pics:

Bugger me, Falcon xt. Thats gotta be the first post i've seen you make in at least 12 months. Apart from that, damn good dyno stand. You'll ned a little more reciprocating weight to make it more realistic. Maybe tack on a few 10kg discs.....

i dont need any weight added, as the brake on the dyno adds the required load on the back wheel. and the straps on the pegs are pulled down very tight. also, you dont need an exact load to tune a bike accurately. any decent load is fine.

as for my posting, i found my way back to this site in the hope to get back into the sport! i see there is a lot of new faces here, and some old ones

hey ringo did you end up doing anything with the bike trainer to help tune your bikes? sorry for bringing up an old post but would be interesting to see a final product to duplicate and use.
cheers Paul

Nah mate, after the walbro seized my engine for the second time I went and put the del' rep. back on. I was tuning it by riding it and funnily enough she was going really good "as they say" right before it seized!! It was at an arvo session that went into the night, the conditions changed and it started too run worse. I thought I would lean it off because it was cooler and pfft.

motors really do run hard right before they say " ive had enough"!! i had a polini srII motor, running good lap after lap after lap on VP109 untill i run out of VP. So i ducked too the local servo and got a few bucks of 98PULP , filled up the tank didnt re-jet , did a few good laps ( was like shiaat this 98 is goin HARD) ..............motor seized down the straight hahaha. Live and learn , always re-jet ppls . Melted the ring plug electrode and scored the barrel
