| | | walbro carb
heya, its been so many years since i put together a cag i cant remember the answer to this anymore,
with the walbro carbs on a cag engine do you need a different throttle cable to the stock one? i recall the pin fit into throttle butterfly on the carb but i think the cable was too short or something?
gotta order a new one so if you could jog my memory
and whats the general consensus with regards to removing the choke on them? seems like its a pretty major restriction in there and last time i had it mounted i dont recall ever having to use it either
cheers

i ended up taking my choke off on my walbro.. and yeah you can just run normal cable..
you dont need a choke for them anyways.. i couldn't start my bike with it on.
Heard bad things about walbro's but mine was ok..

WHY Take the butter fly out and leave the shalft.I used a big Walbro and had no problems at all.All you have to do is use full throttle all the time.Just make sure you addjust it correctly and they are fine .The are better than a flooding normal one.Thats my opinion.

well i ripped out the choke + axle and tapped em with grub screws. everythings all good now except the bike holds onto revs for ever because the throttle doesnt return :P
anyone have a return spring for one (the one between the cable adjuster and the rocker arm) ? or know where a spring that fits could be had?
cheers

The cable outer is too short, I used a dellorto rep cable tube off the top of the carb and cut it to the right length and inserted it in between the carby and the cable.......if you know what I mean.
