air filter

what can i use to clean this sort of filter(metal) and does this brown hard stuff look normal? also can u run the motor without air filter to increase performance(only ride on road) thnx guys

I dont advise that you run the engine withought the air filter on even onroad as you run the risk of getting junk into your engine which will case damage.
To clean it i guess either in warm soapy water but make sure it is rinsed out well and dried out verry well, or you could clean it with some petrol or mehto? i know i clean my rc car filter with warm soapy water and its all fine. Just make sure u rub some air filter oil into it after you clean it or at least some WD-40 or similar.

that brown stuff is the glue that holds the filter together, it just looks like they used a bit much and it got everywhere

no problem, just imagine if all that dirt got up into ur engine by running with no filter
