| | | Engine Swaps!
I just bought a Sikk Toys Mini Pocket Bike for $75 US, from a kids who's mom made him sell it after laying it down. His loss my gain! My question is has anyone attempted a motor swap on these yet! I have a '87 Yamaha YSR 50 Motor laying around since I have a Yamaha Banshee motor in my old YSR. I am thinking of putting that YSR motor in the mini. The motor is Bored out 57cc, Polished, ported shaved head, Large carb. Tops out with various gearing close to 75mph. Anyone else done this or am I just Extremely insane! Maybe I just answered my own question, man I hate when I talk to my Self!!!!

I had a Similar thought. If you got a midibike or a cruiser pocket bike and you put in a blueprinted comer s80 or yamaha kt100j go kart engine in. What would the performance and top speed be like or is this just crazy?

Think about it guys .... or look into it more.
Kart engines are perfect. Light, 100cc, powerfull with a broard spread of power.
The trick...... you need a clutch.
The engines that come to mind are
1. Any JICA motor - 100cc piston port - air cooled - 20hp - 12kg
2. ARC Water cooled - 100cc piston port -17hp - 15kg - electric start
3. Rotax Max 125 - Powervalve - 32hp - 16kg - water cooled - electric start
4. SAETA 250cc Rotary - 54HP - Electric start - Water cooled - 18 kg
All the karting motors are heavy but light compared to a bike motor.
The Rotax is probably the most practical. You can even get a 150cc barrel.
But they are $3000
Might borrow one and see if I could make it fit.
The Rotary is probably the ultimate but you have enough trouble hanging on to it in a kart let alone a bike and it's $8000 +

 | After a bit of thought i would think that the electric start motors would be the better option as with the others you have to push the kart to get it to fire and then run which can cause major headaches and back pains to get it started.
With the exception of the comer s80 as it has a pull start engine.
