problem starting bike

Just wondering if anyone else has problems starting bike
with walbro or OEM carby's and ADA air filter.

i Have to either take air filter off and put hand over
velocity stack and pull it a couple of times to choke it
or place a rubber glove over the air filter to choke it.

Once the bike it warm is fine but its a pain in the ****
to have to do this everytime i want to ride it

Yep, I have the same problem, i have the walbro ith an ADA filter, i find every time i want to start the bike i have to apply the choke pull the cord about four times, then let off the choke and it will start, its no different when its warm though, i have booked some dyno time so hopefully i will be on top of it soon

Finally someone with similar probs

The only difference between our problem VARIFLEX
is that my carby does not have on/off tap or choke
thats why i have to place air tight rubber glove over
air filter to choke it or take air filter off and place hand over it

I was hoping there were more ppl out there that would have a solution
or tips to counter this as its a bit of a bugger to have to use the rubber glove
everytime i want to start it.

Thanks for your reply though Variflex i appreciate you effort

After reading this post again I just realised I can stop your cold starting probs with a choke plate designed for your carb we sell them at $10 piece and they are 15mm same as your carb all you do is bolt it right in and presto you now can chuck the rubber glove.... by the way do you have a velocity stack? this would give you a boost too

Finally i have my bike sorted out, turns out that the main problem was my fuel mix, as i had just put in a new engine at the same time i fitted the carb i had the fuel mixed at 25:1 which apparently made it untunable, once they dumped the fuel and mixed a new batch a little less rich in oil the bike was easily started and tuned, now runs like a dream, thanks to Herbies bikes and bits at kingswood
