how many hours before rebuild

hi to everyone
just found out about these pocket bikes and just doing some research,
i have previously raced karts and am looking to maybe buy a bike.
just wanted to know what sort of running time before rebuilds, pistons ,rings etc and what's the life span of the motors.
any info will help thanks al......

my air cooled engine was modded a tad on day 1...

personally I don't think you need a bigger piston etc..

If you get a 50cc bike..then you already have more power than most bikes on the track..and then you can just change other things..

I've gota lightened flywheel...second piston ring out..bottom gasket out..and my bike is KICKING *** against the rest of the field..

how many hours roughly has your engine done as i'm trying to work out the reliability of these bikes.
i have been told not to waste my time with chinese imports...
i have seen the italian bikes and they are more of a racing machine but at a larger price.
do any chinese imports compete with the polini's etc

a guy in the other forum told me he bought one of the chinese bikes followed by 3 of hes mates buying the same model from ebay he reckons they are good for there price i am following there foot steps... with these bikes they are cheap and parts can be bought with pocket change hence the work pocket anyways with any 2 stroke motor the rings should be changed every 3 months and piston 6 months at the 6 months use i would consider a full rebuild including bearings either way u can tell when a conrod bearing is worn out simply look at the grey or brown colour if this colour is gone time to get rid of those bearings! i have also red by changing the motor bearings in these chinese models makes a noticeable difference in power i wouldnt doubt this either

gazza- so after all the info ozscoot has given you..you ar estill going to buy a 40cc bike of ebay?? mate..for an extra $200? you can have a 50cc and alot better bike..

al...my bike has done roughly 40 hours of racing and practice...and is still going strong..

But, it also depends on how your using the bike? Mine is strictly track ridden...It's never been on the road.. I probably wouldn't do any engine mods if I wasn't racing..

Then wait a week or 2 until you can...

Do you have a job?? Ifso..what's the 'average' income of an adult? $600^?

I'm 16 and I can afford a water cooled and an air cooled..and heck I work at Woolworths! and get paid like $300 a week

Surely you can afford 499 or whatever it is?
