| | | 47cc CAG idle problem
Hi Im new to this! Just got a CAG from eBay and finally got it started after getting a replacement ignition system, it is a 47cc and I am finding that it will start pretty easily but wont want to keep idling when I close the choke (and it doesnt have any power). If I ride it with the choke open it feels really weak until it gets up a little bit of speed then it picks up lots of speed quickly.
Can anyone give me some pointers as to what to do to fix this problem??

choke only needs to be closed when first starting then open or off to ride
make sure your not trying to ride with the choke closed

The only way I have been able to ride my pocket bike is with the choke on.. Is that bad?? It is weak but seems okay once up to speed...
If I try turning the choke off the bike just dies... |

Don't trust the direction of the choke on the carb ...
It could be back to front ..Or at least that's what i've heard..
ie: You think that the choke is on but actually off..
EDIT : Pull your air cleaner off and have a look at the choke ...

It might just need running in. A couple of mates bought CAGs off ebay and had to run around with the choke half on for a little while until the cylinder wore in.

yeah.. the only way your bike should run with the choke on is if it has an airleak... just take your airfilter off to see wats goin on.. doesn't hurt to run it without it for a bit...

The choke (covering the air inlet) is only for cold starts. If you've been riding it around and turn it off to refuel for example, you shouldn't need to use the choke again.
