| | | Removable Swing Arm F7/L7 Thread
Hi all,
I just thought that I would start a thread that is specific to a particular bike so all owners can gather and chat about their experiences, mods, what works and what doesnt etc. and for potential F7/L7 pb owners to get more information about this bike.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Karl, in Brisbane, and will very shortly (this arvo ) receive an F7 with the 49cc upgrade making it an L7 (is this correct?). I've also been searching around the net for mods that will fit this bike but dont know where to look as most things are advertised for other models/different name. I bought mine from Zuma and from what i gather, these are the good ones at a great price! Will i need to replace all the bolts to high tensile ones or are they pretty good to begin with? Please share your experiences with this bike as I'm a total newbie and would love to know more about my bike.
Cheers!

A mate of mine does a lift kit for these approx $50 with all nuts bolts included, as you'll find the foot pegs will hit the ground when hard cornering. Ive personally got one of these and found that without the lift kit they also have a big tendancy to wheel stand at the wrong time.
You may find it hard to get parts like exhausts to fit, im ordering one from the states that has been advertised over there which i havent found on the Australian market.
Fitting a 4 petal reed block with a delorto carby will be a close fit, as the tyre will be close to the filter.
A good Vstack and pod filter will do wonders as does a single fibre petal.
All you head and port work will work as they are the same CAG style motor most small bike are running.
Good luck and have fun

I've been trying to find a 3rd bearing??? 4th bearing??? support. the one that goes on the chain side drive gear. Will all fit or must i buy one specific for the L/F7?
Also, they recommend 3mm play in chain tension. is this right? the chain feels so tight.
while we're on about the chain, there are 2 chain guides (black rubber things) are these necessary or can i take them off?
cheers!

Good luck and have fun | Thanks for the info mate. I have found that the footpegs are way too low and have already caused me to stack today nothing major though, just a few scratches here and there. What does your friends lift kit look like and where can i get one?

by the looks of things from 00RVR's post, it's not as easy as a PR50 to find upgrade stuff on this bike |

It is a little harder to mod these but the motors are alike in terms on modifying. It just Exhausts and stuff.
The lift plates look the similar as madpocket pocket bike(i'll post pics tonight), but will have an extra brace. The mounting wholes are more vertical as to add little length to the wheel base. The only mod you will have to do is move you you chain roller.
I'm only using the top roller. Let me know if your after a set. $50+postage
Chain tension, the way i do the tension is on the top side, 20mm top to bottom when moved. ie 10mm up from standing and 10mm down from standing. Just a tip,LUBE the chain every minimum every 20 minutes of riding.
The 4th bearing kit will put your chain out of alignment, you can fix this elongating the engine mount hiles and moving the motor. you may find it alright to leave. I've personally left it standard, im only using th 4th bearing lit as a Dust cover.

Jake | Thanks Jake.
So is it worth going for the 4th bearing upgrade? Is 10mm movement too much? they recommend 3mm... :?:

The L7 can be fitted with a PBU stage pipe without modification to pipe or frame, and the rear exhaust mount lines up perfectly You do have to cut an oval hole in the bottom fairing to clear part of the header pipe though.
We ran PBU C/F Reeds/Block with a Walbro 16.5 Carby, but had to cut down a foam unifilter so it fitted (There is not as much room between the back of the crankcase and front of the rear tyre as on most other bikes)
Mark from Ozscoot said some time ago that he could probably get genuine L7 fairings, maybe check out Carter? Standard Carter/Pocketracer fairings will not fit. Tips with the fairings
...put a spacer tube on the front seat screw between the frame and fairing so you don't crack the fairing by overtightening/crushing it.
...Put a steel washer inside the lower fairing screws so the little peg does not wear into the fairing and a rubber one under the head of the screw
Standard windscreens do just fit, slightly different shape, but not noticable when fitted.
