Air filter to back wheel

Hey ppl, on my bike the air filter comes really close to the back wheel firstly when i had the black box on it and a stock carb, i had the back mud guard on it and it was fine, then i got a mushroom filter and had to cut the mud guard to fit, then later on i got a dell 14/14 witch is longer then the stock carb and had to cut the mudguard even more and only had close to 10 mm or a lil bit more space, now i got the 6mm reed spacer and the filter is coming close and my adjuster is sitting right on the back, was just wondering.. i have a ordonary pod style filter on a dell and it dont fit so i just taped it on.. is the filter to suit the dell 14/14 smaller in length? or can i use something that is good? suggestions..? Thanks ... As i have it now there is no more then about 4 or 5 mm spacer between them.. Cheers Cruzen.

maybe if u get the correct size rubber with filter, that might give u a bit more space.
Are u using the pod filter with rubber that u had on stock carb?
