cleaning out the carby / jets is very simple as long as you take care not to damage internals such as the float fork or the tiny needle in seat. you must remove the carby from engine, then it is advisable to screw in [ clockwise ] any external adjust screws whilst counting the number of turns so when these are screwed back in after removal you will have the same settings as before. you can now remove the bottom bowl via screws then you will see a float with the holding fork and a very small needle under, this must be carefully taken out over a clean bench so if dropped you will find it easy. this is called the needle and what needs to be cleaned out is the seat to where this needle was positioned. the other jet is right in the middle and this is removed with the use of a screwdriver, when all of these have been removed you can either soak the carby in [ carby clean ] then blow out with compressed air to all jet holes or you can use a new tin of wd-40 with the plastic extension nozzle attached as this is great for both extra pressure build and lining up of jet holes to blast out. take special care again when replacing the tiny needle / fork / float and make sure it is free and not sticky when you replace the bottom bowl. hope you understand this. we have some pics on carby clean out, if you go to performance tips section, this is not the same carby but close in terms of float / fork / needle / main jet.
