Clutch - centre bolt!

when the points of a nut / bolt head are rounded, the only option is the use of the good old vice / jaw grips, too late for any ring spanners. samall vice grips are available at around $4. which is a great needed tool .

i used a Hex ring spanner and i got it off after 10mins of waiting for the wd-40 to kick in, atleast give it a go at this point anything is worth a shot

on small nuts and bolts (common all over pocket bikes) use a 6 point socket only do not use 12 point sockets as they will easily round the heads off

just get a screw driver and jam up the flywheel so the clutch wont spin and get it off if u have threded it just use some multy grips and grip it tight it should come off.

if anyone tries this again give the bolt a good tonk on the head before you try and undo it. That will assist in loosening the loctite that is holding it in. WD in advance if it's the first time its been taken off. I've done 3 CAG engines now and 2 of them seemingly had loctite poured in there by the little chinese kiddies that assembled them
6 point hex spanner or socket is your best bet for removal if you can get your hands on one...
hey great idea with the substitute "puller" though!

i have got my centre bolt off the clutch but i cant get the clutch off do you have to un do any other bolts

you need to hold the clutch somehow (up in the air, by hand usually works!), replace the clutch bolt but don't screw it far in. give the bolt head a whack with a hammer and you should be left holding only the clutch.

If you're dissasembling the engine, you can use this method to remove the flywheel and the clutch and seperate the crank case halves at the same time.



Whatever you do don't try and pry the clutch out with a screwdriver or anything or you can bust off the clutch arms. (so they tell me..ahem..)

I've always used an air driven impact wrench. Gets the bolt off without any hassle.
