Pocket Bike Buyers Beware!!!!

As you may or may not beware new laws have been introduced to erradicate shonky traders. Effective in Victoria a Certificate Of Compliance MUST be supplied both from a Supplier or Private Seller stating that the bike meets victorian legislation guidelines.

1. Steering Neck must have No Play
2. Throttle must be on right side and return under its own weight to idle
3. Foot Pegs MUST hold a static load of 70KG each unless specified by the smanufacturer
4.Brakes must be fitted to front and rear, must be adjustable for wear and fixed to frames.

No complying Sellers will face fines of $25,000

Carter Racing Developments has always complied with the points mentioned, and will also be supplying a Certificate of Compliance with all Bikes sold effective 24.5.05

I don't have a bike yet, but for those that already have one. How could they check their bike and make it safe. Thus matching the laws.

have to be a qualified mechanic by my knowledge, other wise any back yard dealer could 'say' he checked every bike he sells, but if you fall off the bike and break ur leg and sue him, the lawyers are gonna pwn him coz he has not given u the document saying they are at AUS standards.
Other in put accepted

No-Fear's 99% correct, a Qualified Mechanic or Engineer can give you a basic written report checking the items specified, we are qualified to give these reports under the legislation so if your in the area pop in it's a free service!
