| | | Replacing Clutch
I have 2 clutch housings... one has a broken off sprocket and one has a grinded up inner surface.
i cannot work out how to pull the two apart so i can make them into 1 working one...
is it possible to pull the clutch housing apart. if so... how?
thanks, :P

there are C-clips between the clutch drum and housing, you will need some needle nose circlip pliers to remove the clip from its section then you can carefully tap the drum out. have a close look and you will notice this circlip with a tiny hole at each end, this is why you will need circlip pliers.

there is 2 circlips? one at the spocket and one inside the holes on the inside of the drum? they both have to come off??
so once you have done this, are you able to take the sprocket from the drum..?
not going to attempt it unless i know that i can get the sprocket off and replace it...

all will be ok when you un clip the circlips, some front sprockets have a tig weld on the opposite end to the sprockets cog you will notice this by looking on the inner side of the drum and dead center is a slight weld, if there is this weld you must grind this weld off before you can undo the sprocket. if no weld and you see a thread you can undo the sprocket. if there is no thread visable you have a push- in type sprocket which is held in by a circlip, have a good look before you start.
