| | | Ebay Seller to avoid.
Hi guys.
A quick note for those who still enjoy buying bikes from Ebay.
The seller ebusiness_supplies should be dealt with cautiously.
They have been selling 40.2cc bikes as 49cc bikes for a long time now.
They say they didnt know. Highly unlikely.
If you have bought a bike from this seller in the last 12-18 months, talk to somebody in regards to whether you have purchased a smaller than advertised bike. Under law, you are entitled to a full refund or to get what you paid for.
I have not checked their new range of bikes, though it is quite likely these are also 40.2cc bikes.
Be aware that the vast majority of bike sellers on ebay know nothing of the machines they sell, and most are selling only 40.2cc bikes as 49cc.
We are continuing to weed out these sellers, and will continue to advise the forums as to what bikes are what.
Ebay bikes are what they are. All businesses in here will agree, that these bikes are hardly safe from the box, and require work to make them raceable. They are almost never capable of the speeds advertised.
Please keep this in mind when you read the exaggerated claims made in these ads.
Thanks
Jason

Thanks for the heads up.
Not in their defense, but isn't that pretty much the case with all Ebay bikes?

No not all sellers are selling smaller engined bikes. Some are actually reasonably good quality.
I'm sure though, that they arent up to the standards accepted by some, but are usable from the box.
I wont promote them on here for fear of being dumped on, but there are some.
I will keep posting more info in regards to businesses not to buy from.
These sellers must either be corrected, or stopped completely.
One is gone..... many more to go....
Thanks
Jason

Yeah the deal with that scottie, is that they are getting another shipment of bikes in then. After the crap I've caused them, they've started offering everybody replacements in october.
By the time October comes around, I doubt if they'll have anymore bikes to sell.
This has been my pet project for the last 3 months. I've nearly succeeded in what I set out to do. Shut them down, or prevent them from falsely advertising their bikes.
I have already stopped them advertising one particular style of bike.
We need more people to come forward and have a go at them for it to work.
Ebay is a great place to sell and buy, but there is too much crap being sold. It has to be stopped.
Baby steps........

when buying a p/bike from a person you don,t know and you want to be sure the bike is a 49cc and not a 40cc, ask the seller this question; can you tell me if there is a small lug set into the head fins on the left side of the engine near the spark plug. if there is a lug it is a 40cc

Unfortunately, up to about 3 months ago that was true.
Our chinese friends have found a way around this.
There are now models shipping with near identical heads with no lug and a 40mm bore.
Confusing...... isnt it........
Housing measurements, and intake port molding lengths should be used.
The lug has now become irrelevant.
Identification, is still visual, just not using the lug only as a reference. and if they cant or wont answer that question don't buy it from them
Exactly
