| | | Walbro carb question????
I have been running a new walbro carb 668 i think and it runs great when i can get it started. It seems i have to keep messing with the choke and throttle to get going. Once it is running it goes good but if it dies it wont start again for a while. Which needle would i adjust for this problem. I have a 49cc mini cag with fiber reed and racing clutch springs added. Also the new manifold for the carb. Please help.

try adjusting the low speed [L] needle only 1/4 of a turn at a time, more fuel is out [anti clockwise] less fuel is in [clockwise] also make sure the inlet manifold-- gasket-- carby purge hole lines up so the carb diaphram pump can work. to check this, have a look at the carby gasket and you will see a tiny hole above and below the main inlet hole, this must line up with the carb purge hole as well as the manifold, very important.

My bro has a (replica?) carby aswell. We took it down to ride today and spent over an hour trying to get it to run sweet. But it seems to be starving for fuel???? We adjusted the jets really rich to compensate but its at full idle (setting) and is only just idling.
any ideas on why it would be starving for fuel?

Check for blockages and/or air leaks.

yea i was thinking air leaks... i mite take his intake system apart and put some sealant on all the gaskets and that and maybe flush his carby then go from there.
anything obvious im missing here?

noidea, while you at it check the reeds, make sure there is no daylight between the reed and reed cage floor.

He has, big bore, fat pipe and this carby... the rest of the bike is stock. Could stock reed valves be the problem?
