What ever happened to the GP3 Rep?

The last post regarding this bike was made in 2010 on this forum

Just curious do people still sell these bike? and I don't mean the manufacturers.

I read some good and bad reviews, and there is plenty of information on how to make the bike that tad more reliable and menacing.

I know that it was hot back in 2005, 2006, people were talking about it, praising as one of the best reps out from China, and also cursing it for the availability of parts.

What happened. Why are they not so popular now if it was such a great bike with huge potential. Was it the price?, was the lack of after sales support and spare parts (original Polini parts)?, or the law regarding intellectual property and patents?

What selections of chinese reps are currently out there on the market that we have to choose from.

Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough but Cags seems very popular maybe because of its price point. Everything else if far and few.

What if I am not interested in a Cag and wanted a brand new GP3 w/c rep or maybe a DM D1 rep?
