the current exchange rate is 1 RMB = 0.16 US Dollars (0.10 pounds), so something like a 500 RMB pocket bike would be around 78 US Dollars (around £50), which is extremely cheap.

Actually, you can buy almost anything from Taobao for a much cheaper price, even dirtbikes for 1,500 RMB! (be careful though, some products are fake, its china).

And remember, be sure to fully read Taobao Field Guide because it will definitely help if you are a American that is not experienced with the Chinese language.

There are many places to buy VERY cheap 49cc pocket bikes. If you want it cheap it might not be the best quaity. But you get what you pay for. Anyways i would have to say the best place to buy them cheap is ebay. Ill give you a few links.

Cheap isn't necessarily poor quality - it depends on who and where you're getting your items from.

I work with a lot of suppliers and manufacturers in China through my job (at Alibaba.com), and I believe you'd find some good quality 49cc pocket bikes very cheap by doing some thorough research. My advice would be to keep searching online, and start to contact some of the suppliers on your short list. That way you can talk about their products and ask for specific details or order a sample so that you can determine the quality first hand and make sure it meets your standards.

Doing this research will also help prevent you falling victim to scammers as you will fairly quickly determine the trustworthiness of your suppliers simply by getting to know them.
