| | | Buying a Bike Advice
I already have a bike but i thought i might put this post up to help new ppl into this sport. What type of bike would you suggest someone to buy with a limited budget? Would it be better to buy an ebay bike for cheap and spend $150 odd fixing and upgrading the bike to racing speed, or is it better to buy a strong $500 bike and spend less in repairs? What type of bike is best for a starter aswell?
(I personally bought an ebay bike and spent $150 modifying it and now its really fast)

GRC or Similar cost $5000+...but all the crap that goes on with the chiense bike all adds up..and there still un-reliable..

Have to agree with x on this subject. While i believe there will always be a place for cheaper chines bikes if you are serious about racing in the long run italian bikes are more reliable. We have now been racing 3 DM,s for about 3 months with nothing more than a plug change and maybe a clutch or 2. In the same time racing chinese bikes i can,t tell you how many times the engines were in for rebuilds etc. I would say if your just starting yeh a $500 bike is fine but long term you can,t pass up the euro stuff
Ps , i would always suggest buying a bike from a dealer over ebay any day. Most dealers will have checked your bike and made sure there are no problems and if you do have any at least you have some one to go back to.

Thanks, but i'm talking 'limited budget' for families with kids or people totally new to the sport.

Need to find someone to do finance with intrest free, It would be the same as trying to keep the bike on the track with all the money you end up paying! :?:
