DM Replica...

Hey guys,
Im considering getting a DM replica as my first bike after a few years out of the hobby.
Im hoping to get some feedback on them.
I tried a search but it only came up with results for "replica" as "DM" was too short, so it was pretty useless.

I guess what I want to find out is whether its gonna be like a typical chinese copy...where things dont line up, bolts strip if you look at them funny, parts quality is a joke, things not fitting like they should etc, etc.

If thats the case I would rather get a slower bike thats of decent quality.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

get a banchee there proven time & time to be the best chinese bike, i know there is a very good one for sale atm (claw) that bike had had a lot of money & time put into it i know because it was my bike some years ago & i spent a firtune on it it's pretty much a full euro eccept the frame

Yes ive seen that bike, it's out of my price range firstly and I would prefer a newer bike.

I have both the rep and a DM GP1 and I am very happy with the rep.

The alignment of the rear swing arm was not perfect but good enough.I replaced the front brake bracket with a DM one.The exhaust is great.I had to make up a "seat support" under the bodywork to properly distribute the weight as I sit on the bike.Lots of DM parts will fit on it.

I rebuilt the engine with SKf bearings,BZM clutch,clutch drum and pinion,BZM chain as well as BZM rear sprocket with a DM rear hub.

They do need work,but its the best looking and performing China bike out there.I thought they had stopped making them.

Legine i see that you are from Sydney so if you look at the NSW mini moto.forum + Pro Moto site you will see a DM REP in the for sale section. As the add says the bike will be at PCR Woolongong for viewing & sale with other extras supplied 25/06/2011. Bill
