Might get back into it :)

Hey guys,
I used to love my pb's but I sold everything when my mates sold their bikes, which was a few years ago.
Now I'm out of school, working full time and I'm thinking of getting back into it with a couple mates.
I can't say I remember much about the pocket bike scene, but looking around the forum I'm starting to notice a few farmiliar terms. I guess why I'm posting is in hope of a little advice.
I need help finding a bike for me. I'm hoping to spend around the $1k mark....nothing serious, just a little something to mess around on, but I don't want to go through the whole cheap Chinese crap phase I went through first.
I think I would prefer a watercooled bike, I just have no idea where to start. New or 2nd hand, not too fussed.

Also...does anyone know if that Kartatak place in arncliffe still let's pb's use the track some weeknights?

Cheers, Daniel

You can't use a water-cooled at Kartatak. Too noisy.

If you want to get back into it the only place to race is WCR. Last Saturday of the month.

Promoto

Or pm me for more info.

I've got a real nice banshee going cheap if you want a fast bike :-)

As for where to ride I couldn't help too much with that as I'm based in Perth.

But as for a bike, Danny @ PRB does a DM replica for $1200 - probably the best rep you're going to get your hands on!
Pocket Racing Bikes

He also has some second hand euro bikes which are always a good deal - check out here -> Pocket Racing Bikes - The minimoto and pocketbike specialists

They're good bikes but Chinese. For few bucks more you can get a fully sorted euro motored banshee

Thanks guys
what's the quality like on the DM replica? (nuts and bolts etc)
Also is it a mini or midi size?
I used to have a blata replica as u can see in my profile pic, what size would that be considered?

Is there anything for less than $1000 apart from cheap junk?

Cheers, Daniel

D1 = Midi
B1 = Midi
Although think the D1 is slightly smaller than B1 rep.

Under 1k is not great, but if you are willing to put the work into it from the start they can be reliable.

Honestly save the extra coin and get something like claws bike mate!!!!

Can't comment too much on the GRC, I only sat on Ringo's bike once or twice. I've ridden his brothers DM (genuine) though and it was very comfortable to sit on. Felt much more comfortable than the B1 rep I used to own. Better seating position IMO.

As for the quality of the DM rep... can't say too much myself I haven't owned one, think there are a couple floating around here though? Sure I've seen some somewhere? Give Danny a call and have a chat about it - he knows his stuff.

But in the end you just can't go past a legit euro bike (running gear and frame) for quality. If you can get the extra coin together then you can't go wrong!!!
