WaterCooled Lucky7

I got to thinking the other day that i'd like to build me a water cooled Lucky 7. As some of you might know, Morty has had one for a few years now and brings it out for a run and it kicks butt. So, seeing as i have a few L7's in the garage and they're sitting around doing nothing, i thought i'd build me a 14/40 elite Lucky 7 to take on the competition at next years titles.

I've been fiddling around in the garage for am hour or so making a mock up, heres a sneak preview.

I'v'e noticed that there might be a little problem getting an up and over pipe to fit but fear no, i think i've got that dilemma under control.

Come tomorrow afternoon, i should have the mounts fabricated and the motor fitted along with the radiator and pipe.

Then i'll be one of the very few people in the world to have a lucky 7 with heaps more hp than aircooled.

Fingers crossed!

Part 2!!

Went into work this morning and had a crack at fabricating the brackets. Fitted the engine and radiator mounts, lined up the motor and repaired a crack in the frame (damn chinese frames!)

Heres a couple of photos.

Tomorrow i'l weld up the brackets, brace the top mount and fit the radiator.

I'm hoping during the week i can get all the running gear on it to take down to Wollongong this weekend and give it a blast around WCR. If it all works fine, i'll disassemble and powder coat all the parts and re assemble ready for racing. In saying that, the motor does have a chinese bottom end and i have a spare blue crank hanging around here to throw in it, could be a good combo...

All the major work done now. Rejigged the mounts as the motor was too far forward. Had to ditch the original footpegs and replaced them with banshee mounts. Braced the bottom of the chassis. Mounted the radiator. Just need to put the water bottle on and she's ready for a test run. I'm going to use banshee wheels (only because they have pmt's)

Here's some more photos.

Little bit more mucking around and this bike will be a screamer.
