Question mod Q's

hey all, im new to the 2 stroke side of things and pocketbikes in general. im currently using a standard cag engine for a school go kart project and i was wondering how much power i could get out of it on a budget. i done some searching on ebay and can pick up a :

bbk - 49cc BIG BORE KIT - Pocket dirt bike rocket, Quadard (eBay item 190463534986 end time 01-May-11 09:16:07 AEST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

pipe -http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110588537179&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1866wt_905

and carby - 49cc CARBY KIT High Performance. 2 stroke Pocket Bike (eBay item 190482878434 end time 22-Apr-11 23:24:35 AEST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

for about 170 all up with reeds and a rocket key. are these the right things to be doing ? ive had alot of experience with pit bikes but thats a whole different setup. all input would be appreciated. cheers

Both the big bore kit and carb together will work well together. I'm running the same combo in a cag and find it reliable. Not sure of power output but it is a big improvement over stock. However the kit does not come with a gasket set which you will need and if the motor is apart i would be changing the crank bearings and seals to quality items at the same time. Chinese bearings are only good for scrap metal value.

You will probably find that the bearings are still chinese bearings. Your best bet is to go to a bearing supplier and get quality bearings.
