I recently bought a 18mm Dellorto carb and was a bit surprised to see it fitted with a AN type atomiser which is supposed to be for a 4 stroke...
Do you guys really notice a difference between using the AN type and AU? Both with their correct type bush on top of course.
Cheers!

Realistically, you can run an AN atomiser, its just a matter of getting your jetting right. I run one with success, 74's run both types (AU and AN) before as have most of the other guys. It depends on your motor. I'm thinking that the more heavily worked it is, the better the response in the carb from it.
What needle and jet are you using? W23 with a 100 jet works nice.

I have a 266 AU and the bush already, thanks for asking anyway. Havent have time to try them out yet tho.
At the moment I have a W18(installed) and also a W6(spare). I have tried nearly every jets from 86 to 103 by increment of 2 but its still not perfect. It is why I started to have a look somewhere else and was wondering about this AU AN tubes.

Yeah motor is running pretty fine for what it is (morty's one Blueprinted blata big bore). It just has a dead spot on the rev range. But once you go over this spot it revs fine up to max.
Hard to identify what this dead spot is coming from. It kind of boags a bit or splutter, can't tell if its lack of air or fuel. Or maybe something completely different, or I just expect too much from a "cheap" engine.

Yeah I saw in other posts that you had one of these, pretty interesting, will find the time to fiddle around with the bike a bit more and once I give up it might be a good idea, and also to see what all my work has achieved.
