To be totally fair, riding on the street is not a good practice. Lucky the cop was cool, and just told you to walk it back home. Others have been ticketed, their bikes confiscated, and crushed.

NOW, as for the neighbor ..... You're on your own private property. I agree with jmac - get a helemet and some earplugs, and ride the wheels off 'em. I would suggest some other bad things, such as burnouts and donuts near the fence, tuning the bikes (with lots of revving up and down ... y'know, have to check the revs all the way through the powerband ...), and oh: racing to loud music is always fun. Of course, I personally would NEVER do such things ...........

Please people I know we may all want to blast our opinions freely, but can we be sensible please.
All I'm saying is, here's the law... If you break it, how can you think you're in the right.... Reving the t!ts off your bike is going to get you nowwhere... at all! & how is this image any better for pocketbikes than riding them on the footpath... ... Just be thankful you'v still got your bike after gettin nicked!!

The law is simple, it must be under the DB's below & be run only between hours shown... its that simple!
It ain't rocket science...

• Only operate outside power tools, including lawn mowers and edgers for a maximum of 2 hours
per day and only as often as is reasonable, between the hours of:
- 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturdays
- 9am to 7pm Sundays and Public Holidays
• Ensure your car, truck, motorcycle and lawn mowers have effective mufflers fitted.
What legislation governs noise?
The Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 are the prescribed regulations for noise
under the Environmental Protection Act 1986. The regulations deal with noise passing from one
premises to another. The regulations do not cover the propulsion and breaking systems of vehicles
travelling on roads, aircraft, trains or emergency warning devices, which are required under other
laws. The regulations are situated around two distinct strategies, Assigned Noise Levels and
unreasonable noise which are
governed by the Assigned Noise Levels, shown below:
Assigned Type of Premises Level (dB)
Receiving Noise
Time of Day
................. LA10............... LA1 .......... LAmax
7am–7pm .. . 45+............. 55+ ............. 65+
Mon-Sat .. Influencing .. Influencing .. Influencing
................... Factor ... .... Factor ....... Factor

9am-7pm ....... 40+ ........ 50+ ............ 65+
Sun & ...... Influencing . Influencing . Influencing
P/holidays .... Factor ....... Factor ........ Factor
sometimes i dont know why i bother...

This is the 'RECEIVING' noise guys.. So if you had your db reader on the inside of the track at 5 meters away.. that would be the receiving noise... not the noise comin directly out of your exhaust...
If you have any dramas, just contact your local council.. they'l be able to set you straight. you may have different laws for your area! You may be able to build a fence or some type of noise barrier.. but if you're serious, contact your local council..
