125cc ducar piston ring change, how do i get to the piston safely???

hey my 125cc ducar engine is blowing alot of smoke and eaten a bit of oil,, its lost a little bit of compression and has a rattleing sound goin on so im pretty sure its the piston rings.. was just wondering what i need to do to get at the piston??? i can change everything i just dont want to take out things that dont need to be taken out or the opposite thanks jake....

check the valve clearance.. that would be my first bet...

try Mini Dirt Bikes & Pit Bikes Forum if you dont know how to check the valve clearance.. they have a tutorial for it..
