i would look for a second hand DM something like Bollins #74 or Toms (Aust Champ) even WBR's bike. Why because im thinking maybe if i had a DM like theirs i could maybe just maybe ride like them guys. DM's are all the rage
Jokes aside i think they are awesome bikes.

If i had the funds, i'd investigate the Blata ultima 50. Damn nice lookin' bike and no-one in Australia has one yet! (as far as i know)

Hi xtascxtcjnr
I own a DM..love it ! great handling bike....another bike to look at is the BMS. If you go to the pocket bike of the month thread on here, Ronin has a picture of his BMS.
These are awesome too !

1) haha if i was throwing 7 grand at something id want it to at least be a bit different. soooo.... 4 stroke SG racing YouTube - Midimoto 4T SG Racing Factory
but realistically probably a bms for me. couple are right up the front of the grid so they are definitely a winning bike and there not too common yet. havent seen a phantom in the flesh yet.. i reckon the brand new DMs look like a gay clown threw up all over them haha. over anodizing much :P the old ones with the black painted frame and rims look mean though wouldnt mind one of them either if piles of money mystically appeared haha. a boy can dream
2) can i have some of that $7k pleassssseeee lmao

Ive owned a few bikes and will list my impressions of them here. Although saying that I do believe people have different riding styles and what may feel OK to one rider may not feel OK to you.
OK Here they are, and it does depend on what you want to do with the bike as all you have said is you have $7000 to spend, So I will assume you are looking at a top end bike for the elite class.
1. Blata Origami copy ported by Maylands Performance, good bike but the handling for me was bad after experiencing other bikes. For the money you are spending, no real need for me to discuss this in any detail.
2.My Dreambike 50cc Polini ported by Maylands performance.... This was a nice bike at first and the handling was great compared to my Blata rep. It felt like it would go exactly where you wanted it to and stay on the line you picked. This was before I got a Euro bike (GRC RR) then I really noticed the difference in that the bike still handled OK but I believe because of the design of the frame it was very firm and unforgiving when it hit small bumps in the track. Also polini bikes I have noticed IE Dreambike, GP4 don't have very good set up on the fairings to be able to remove them quick on a race day. (even using quick nuts)
3. My GRC RR 50cc BZM ported by maylands performance. This was a fantastic bike, the quality was great, and fairings were quick to remove. It was my first Euro bike, and it rode very smooth and held its lines great. It didn't get upset by irregularities on the track. I have two complaints with it now though after owning other bikes. First was the brakes were not as good as my Blata elites (but that can be remedied) and my second complaint and more important one is although I didn't notice it at first after riding other Euros that I got after this bike it really stood out that, when entering a corner I felt like i had to drag/push the bike over to enter it. This made me have to concentrate more on the corner than I found I had to on other bikes. (remember this is just how I felt, you or others may be different)
4. Blata Elite R and WRS 40cc. Probably the best 2 bikes I have owned (apart from the BMS). They are more basic in design than the GRC, but they do the job far better in my opinion. The Braking is powerful and fairings are easily removed. The handling to me is Faultless. The bikes were never upset by any irregularities in the track, they just dropped into corners without effort and stayed on line. They gave me a lot of confidence and I think were always never at the limit of their capabilities.Even one day was pushing it hard and the WRS mono ed at the bigging of a corner and I managed to ride it all the way through the corner like that. This was posted on here by the guy that was behind me. I don't know how I did it and neither does he, but the bike just kept going. So I love these bikes. The only problem with them is that they are a mini not a midi so they are about 10% smaller than other bikes. Iam 6 foot tall and I could fit on them fine when I had them but now that Iam older I feel a bit cramped. So my only concern and something you should think about is that they are smaller and could you fit (also being smaller you do have to get your riding style right IE. get over that front wheel when accelerating as it will lift quickly on you if you don't). Also they are a 40cc (but can be modified to 50cc) the Blata 40cc is a very fast motor but I believe will not be competitive in the 50cc elite class now.
5. The BMS Factory edition 50cc BZM. This bike is my bike of choice now, and the will have to be something else released that is very special before I change to another bike. Once again as with most Euros the brakes are outstanding, and fairings are easily removed. Also after comparing it to rovers DM bike all though a small thing it does appear to be more accessible to work on things with the fairings on. This bike is also noticeably lighter than any other bike I have owned and the workmanship/quality is outstanding. The handling of this bike is faultless to, it is not upset by any irregularities in the track, and corners great, very similar to how I have described the Blata Elites, it just drops into the corners with no effort, and holds the line great. It also allows you to change your line in a corner without much trouble. At the moment the really isn't a bad thing i can say about these BMS bikes. Another benefit of these bikes I have found is the seating position naturally pushes you forward over the front wheel, and is very comfortable. (The most comfortable bike I have ridden with the added benefit of the natural forward positioning of your body) Anyway I like the BMS that much that I have got another one on order (using a different motor) this is something I have never done or wanted to do, with any other bike apart from the Blata Elites.
The are other bikes to look at in your price range, the DM, Stamas, ZPF, and Phantom. I have my own opinions on these bikes but as I have never owned one I shall not comment on them.
Anyway I hope this helps, and with other peoples posts you can maybe make a more informed decision.
Please note though these are my opinions on bikes from my experiences, yours may be different as will others.

guys as ronin stated those comments where just his own that he found with his experiences, personally i have a little different & again these would be just mine lol
i have owned a few bikes in my time but i'll give you all a quick run down on the euro's i have owned,
ZPF 2005 50cc
great bike very light handled very well had fabulous brakes & the engine was also very good, it had a polini bottom end with a modified polini / ZPF cylinder well worth the money i paid for it at the time.
GRC RR 2005 50cc
again great bike very well put together the guys at GRC certainly love the billet aluminium & have mastered the art of a cnc machine, the engine was a BZM 50cc which i found to have a much smoother power band then the polini engine& i would have to say made it easier to ride the bike fast, the GRC handles very well & i have never had an issue with loosing the front end but like ronin i found the brakes to be a little lacking.
DM 2009 50cc
My current DM is another great bike which i have found has a lot more adjust ability in the handling with the swing arm having the adjustable rods in there to raise or lower as well as the fork heights, the DM handles very well so far but i have only raced it 2 times to date so haven't found exactly the right setting as yet but it isn't to far off where I'd like it to be, the brakes i use are not the brakes the bike came with i run hydraulic brakes front & rear with the front being a 4 pot billet caliper from HOPE with the good race pads in there, the rear is currently a formula caliper until i get the bracket to suite the rear HOPE caliper which is also a billet piece, the HOPEs are great breaks with a few very advantages over the others being that the levers are able to be run on the left or right side also the levers are adjustable for reach & pull & as far as i know no other brand does that, also the caliper being billet also offers a few little advantages being that the pads can be removed & replaced without removing the caliper off the bike, also the caliper is very light & looks very trick lol oh & they come in 2 port 4 pot or 6 pot & are supplied with proper good ridge braided brake hoses, the engine is a BZM / LISCI 50cc engine which is very fast & i am more then happy with that .
so pretty much i would say that if your looking at buying a euro try to get a ride on a few different brands as they all have there own little advantages & disadvantages, they all handle different & suite different riders as in height & riding style after that it pretty much comes down to the look of the bike & that's the hardest thing as they all look so bloody good
cheers Allan
