proper mixing ratio

proper mixing ratio

i just bought a new bike and want to take all of the precautions to ensure a long engine life. what ratio should i mix the fuel at and how should i mix it after that? it's 49 cc mini pocket bike[/url]

I recommend 25:1 running the new bike in, then step it up a notch to 35:1 for about half a tank then go higher to 40:1 dont go to 50:1 as it says in manuals u will get better performance at 40:1...

RD RACING is an unknown quantity at this point
remember 25 to 1 using non synthetic oil [for run-in]
40 to 1 using full synthetic oil [when run-in]

how many full tanks of 25:1 should i do before i do 35:1

and can i just leave it on the stand to idle or do i have to actually ride it?

dont credit me i just found the chart about 7 months ago thought it would come in use i was thinking of drawing one up and sending it to the site admin to keep as a sticky it would get rid of all those annoying "what ratio do i run my bike on" threads

u can ride ur bike during the run in process,.. but be very very carful that u only use 1 quater throttle,... so dont expect to be going very fast on ur first few tanks,... if u dont do this ur bike will be slow for ever,.. so be patient and only use 1 quarter throttle for first 3-4 tanks
