Exclamation FOR SALE: BZM 50cc engine, complete package! Priced to sell!

For sale is my BZM 50cc mini moto engine. For those of you in the know this is the old 5 port design (that goes very hard!). Photos below.

I am selling this as a complete package. It is being sold complete with;
BZM race exhaust
BZM elbow
SPS race dome
SPS race head
SPS clutch housing
SPS self cooling bell
BZM pull starter
Dellorto PHBG 18mm carby

Internally the motor has a BZM gold crank, carbon reeds, and has a BZM self cooling flywheel on the side.

The motor has had extensive port work completed to the reed block area, crank case, transfer ports, exhaust port and barrel piston skirts.

It produces some impressive power and is one of the hardest revving motors going around. I've had this on a rolling road and measured peak RPM against an italian race team prepped Parilla and this motor pulled within 100rpm, peaking at 18990rpm.

Since the test against the Parilla, the motor has recently been rebuild (purely a freshen up), with all bearings being replaced, the crankshaft professionally rebuilt with new bearings and balanced to better than factory specification, and a new piston ring installed. Approximately 5 hours have been put on this motor since the freshen up.

My reason for selling is purely because I have upgraded to an even higher spec motor and no longer have a use for this one.

This package is being priced to sell, and I am giving it away at $1100 with freight included world wide.

Contact me via PM or zxtimmy @ gmail.com

Thanks,
Tim.

Hi. Ok thanks. Tim has sent the engine. I hope I can do it justice!

Does anybody know where I can get a 3 or 4 speed gearbox for it?

Cheers

With a masters degree in mechanical engineering and an IQ of 139 I suppose you would be forgiven in thinking the above statement wasnít true. Unfortunately as I am also extremely well off it probably is true.

I digress.

I havenít the faintest idea about mini motos or the engines they use. I purchased the engine to go into an RC vehicle I am building for the RC land speed record. I already held the record at 163.51mph until it was recently beaten by Nic case with 173.76 mph. I was hoping the fine gentlemen on this site who have far superior knowledge of these engines and drive trains could possibly advise me on what gearbox I should use and which ones fit.

If not, I am more than capable in figuring it myself.

Cheers

Thanks for posting that up on my behalf Ringo. It's a pain with some sites being banned from work computers! Ziggy has the tracking details and we've been in touch.

It's been very interesting emailing ziggy and his progress. Very interested to see how it goes. The motor should drive things very well.

Ok, Ziggy. My apologies for (yet again) an unthought out reply. As I was unaware of your intentions for the motor and considering the amount of people who sign up to this site intending to throw 17hp water-cooled motors in cag frames I merely thought you were on the same path. Now hearing what you intend to do with your motor I would be more inclined to think you were not being unfeasable with your goals. I'm sorry, I don't know what type of transmission, if any will work with your motor. All I can come up within that you would need a Pre-unit style gearbox as Pre 1950's motorcycles had. I don't think you'll find what you need here and I would recommend you search some of the European sites to find your answer.
