Make sure the slide is in the right way. If you've put it in backwards it may be stuck in the open position. Take the cap off again and make sure the bevelled bottom edge is pointing towards the back of the bike. There is a slot on one side of the slide that fits over a pin on the right hand side of the carburettor opening. You can tell if it is in wrong because the whole assembly should go together quite easily. If you had trouble getting the cap on this could be the problem.

Otherwise, you might have an air leak around the manifold. did you use blue gasket goo to seal it? This helps.

You might also have too short a throttle cable which might be holding the slide open. Does the throttle twist easy or does it feel stuck? This is an indicator of the first problem too.

Take it all apart, check it, re-assemble it, test it. If it doesnt work, take it all aprt again. You can only learn by fiddling with it all..

Good luck,

Claw.

Take a look straight down her throat (the carby's) it should only have a couple of mill of an opening.

But yes, the 19mm carby will be too big for the bike, you will have a flat spot when taking off from low revs (noticeable out of corners and taking off)

Try and get your hands on a 14mm carby from ebay or Pocket Bike Parts - Home

i have made sure the cable i long enoffe and made sure the slide is in the right way it just seems like the carb is sucking air and petrol and it has no responce is there any better quality carbs for cags that are high performence other than the usual 14mm carb from pocket bike parts web site (NOT a 19mm carb)

You most probably need to adjust the jetting of the carby. If you have a stock motor <i.e. no internal modifications> then yes, that carb is too big. Modified motors like them. Stock motors like a 14mm or a stock carby.

I can tell it is defenitly too big .I have had one running good for about an hour no amount of fidling or jetting will fix this .No concistancy changes from day to day not worth the trouble

A chinease 19mm carb will work great on a cag i have used 1 before very successfully as they fit a 14 mm rubber manifold, it gave me a huge increase over the 14mm carb

A euro 19mm carb will not work on a cag its too big.
