Question Blata B1 Crankshaft??

I may have to rebuild my B1 Engine due to a damaged crankshaft and have a few questions.

whats the difference between Blata crank 330.011.00 (stock?) and Blata crank 330.011.20 ?

what is the stroke length on a stock crank? Is it 37.2mm? i`m asking that because BZM has a few cranks for the B1 with various strokes on there website and i`m getting confused.I have only rebuilt china rep engines.

any replies would be appreciated very much!thanks

The 330.011.00 is the stock crankshaft from the B1 and Elite 14 WR.
The 330.011.20 is the race crankshaft from the B1 victory kit, B2 and Elite 15 and 14 WRS, this crankshaft has a lightened machine conrod and is also balanced.
Stroke is 37mm.

BZM crankshafts that fit the Blata crankcases are 39.2 (silver) and 39.8 (Gold).
These will increase capacity to around 43cc, some crankcases mods are required to fit either of these crankshafts.

Thanks Darren

Thanks Darren!

You are the king of knowing and sharing Blata info!

Other than the minor case work (as per BZM site) does the silver crank need any head work? I dont understand how you can have a longer stroke without having a longer head to accomodate it?If you go with this larger capacity crank-how does the stock exhaust work with it?Do I now need another pipe if I go with a silver crank?

What type of differences would I expect from a stock crankshaft to the Blata racing one? Can I keep my stock pipe or do I need another pipe if I use the racing crank?

Sorry for all the questions but I need to know the right way to do things. Thanks in advance!

Does not require.

They can shorten the distance from the gudgeon to the top of the piston for one.

As with everything, fine tuning and matching of parts helps, but it'll work well enough to get you going.

The blata does not require any head work to fit.
It does requirer a 2.0mm spacer between the barrel and crankcases to fit.
BZM also do these spacers.
What exhaust are you currently useing?
I can't answer that question until i know what exhaust you are using.

The Blata Race crankshaft will rev more freely.
You can use your stock exhaust if you would like to, but a Victory exhaust would give you better performance.

As with any mod's you do to a bike, its the whole package, not just a mod here and there that gives you the best performance.

My advice is, save your money, spend as little as possible on a rep bike.
When you save enough dollars get a new or good quality secondhand Euro bike, because most of the money you spend on the rep bike you will never get back, where as the Euro bike will hold its value much better.

Thumbs up Blata crankshaft

I have a genuine blata B1.I have only rebuilt rep engines for other people.

My B1 has the stock exhaust on it but I found severe unrepairable
keyway damage on the crank so I have to replace it.

Based on your info I want to stay awayfrom the BZM cranks as I dont want to get involved with spacers and anything unusual.

So I will have to decide bewteen the stock Blata crank or the racing crank.Which ever one will work best with my stock exhaust will be the one I go with.

I would like the racing crank but if it is going to start a sequence of having to replace more parts, I`ll have to pass on it and just go with a stock crank.

Thanks again for your ongoing help!

A race crankshaft will work just as well a stock one in your bike, but the race crank will allow your engine to run smoother and rev further, which will boost performance.
