the most simple part mods will give your cag engine a new lease of power. lets say your engine is totally stock including the pipe . what you need to do is this; replace the crankshaft bearings and seals with better quality [ about $20 costs ] this mod lets the engine run free without any drag plus better seals assist in holding case pressure etc. next in line is the cylinder head, either reove the base gasket completely and use a light coat of auto silicon as a thin gasket or buy a thin copper gasket that comes with many 2 piece head kits, this mod gives the engine more compression = more power. next in line is to replace the tin reeds with fibreglass reeds = more power again. next mod; buy a jet kit pack to suit your stock carby and test each jet until your happy with results. a very important part of the stock pipe is firstly where the manifold meats the cylinder head area ; look at the shape of both to see if there identical on the inner mating surfaces ie; oval hole to oval hole both the same in shapes. you dont want any gas flow restrictions here plus you dont want any leaks at the gasket. next mod; replace all fuel lines and fuel filter with something good that the mower shop sells. use good fuel such as premium unleaded and good oil such as motul 800 or simular. you now have a much quicker and reliable engine at little costs so now you must work on the free rolling of the bike ie; no drag atall such as the chain tension too tight , brakes binding , bad wheel bearings. another item is the sparkplug; use ngk brand not the stock chinese brand. do this and you will be rewarded.
