crazy idea for Balata rep custom big bore kit

Now I know I dont have time for this idea with all my other projects and all but I have been thinking about a tottaly non sensable idea. Using the bottom end of a water cooled 40cc Blata rep engine I would look to make my own barrel from scratch. I was thinking I could in theory use the piston off a cag engine which would let me have 59cc before I even start thinking about making my own long stroke crank to get around 70cc. Of course I would have to check things like gudgen pin size and pin location.

The main part of the cooling for the barrel would likely be air cooling but with a watercooled head for simplicity. I could also use one of those interchangable domes off the 2 piece head kit for a cag, machine the combustion chamber a little bigger to stop the compression going too high with the extra stroke and then make a new head up.

I would likely not go for a plated bore but instead cut all the windows in a mild steel honed steeve which I would very carefully press fit into my barrel.

Now I know I am talking about a huge project and its just an idea at this stage (a silly one) but can you guys see any obvious flaws to my concept?

Oh also this would be going into something with 4 wheels

Thats insane, just buy a bigger motor. Motors come in all sizes already.

Clutches

Personally I'd steer away from a centrifical clutch if possible but even if you can't i reckon it would be easier to build a clutch than a cylinder. Kx80 springs to mind. Easiest solution might be a bzm 50 otherwise. It will likely make more power than a 70 or 80 that you build in your shed.

I dont think this is stupid at all... infact, If you were able to design the head on CAD and send it off to get made, you could end up with a really well manufactured and designed product. What I would be more inclined to do is design it to utilise direct injection, and run a small fuel only computer with a simple E.F.I set up... expensive? yeah probably, just depends on how keen you are. Minus the E.F.I, I reckon you could manufacture a nice barrel and piston combo that gives you both displacement and good flow properties, for not too much coin, well, atleast not much in comparison to what genuine engines are going for...
