74 is an unknown quantity at this point
its very easy just feed the wire through the little hole in the tacho & join the other end to the coil lead, i personally wrap the wire around the coil lead 3 to 4 times & cable tie both ends

why does the tachometer display approximately half the rpm when you set it to four stroke on a two stroke engine (say it displays 1000 when set to two stroke on a two stroke engine and then when you change it to four stroke on the same engine at the same rpm it displays approximately 500, i thought four strokes either fire every revolution or every second revolution, i'm not sure which one, which would mean the tachometer, if what i'm thinking is right, should display 1000 or 2000 rpm.. i know there's nothing wrong with the tachometer but i just can't get my head around why it does that..)?
