My $125 Craigslist Bike

Gotta love Craigslist Picked up another bike for $125 yestaurday only thing It didnt have that they guy couldnt find was the charger so I put my own Charging port on it and adapted it to my trickle car charger works great Has electric Start all the lights and horn run like a top. The only thing Is is is slow on the acceleration so I am looking for ideas to speed that up and some other performance mods so any ideas please let me know thinking about a paint job. Least this one is in better shape then the first one I bought. Does anyone know if this particular model bike has a restrictor plate on it I have heard that some have some on the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold if it does then I definitly need to get rid of them any ideas also to help me identify the bike so I can start looking for some performance and replacment parts anyway time for the pics:

To be honest I do not know exactly what model or make it is..

It is known as a 'maxi' bike.. They are not popular over here at all.. They are slower than a CAG, replacment parts and performance parts are also alot harder to come by..

Yes you are correct there doesn't seem to be alot of people who help out nowadays..

I have found out with comparing pics of this bike to others on the net and parts that I have found and stuff compared to mine that its a cateyes bike which really isnt known for its perfomance although with some bolt on upgrades and a little persistance and some work can be made into a pretty decent moving bike.

Cateyes are notoriously unreliable, mainly because of the wiring. However, with some work, the bike can be upgraded to a pretty decent runner. The cateye frame is also the perfect platform for an engine swap, such as a 6.5hp Honda engine (it's been done).Btw, I'm in the States, too - Arizona.

I believe the Cateye comes with a 49cc engine. Engine swaps have been done on these things, from Honda lawnmower engines up to a 110cc 4-speed from a motorcycle (also Honda, i think). With all engine swaps, there is some custom fabrication that neds to be done, and quite frankly, the brass ones you need to hang on once you kick it in gear ..... :p
